Welcome to Class 2D.
Welcome back everyone for your final half term in Year 2. Time has flown by! Our topic this half term is Amazing Animals. We were learning about different animals and their habitats. We are going to be visiting Blackpool zoo and learning about how animals are adapted for their habitat. We will research an animal. We will use this research to make a shoe box habitat for a clay animal that we will design and make. We are going to develop are sewing skills by using a running stitch to make an animal puppet. This half term is always a busy time of year. We will be having our Key Stage 1 sports day and have a play to learn and perform. More details to follow.
Visit to the Sikh Gurdwara
We visited the Guru Nanak Gurdwara ( Sikh temple) in Preston. We had to cover our head ,take off our shoes and wash our hands to show respect before entering the prayer hall. We learned a lot about being a Sikh, including the 5 Ks that Sikhs wear to show they are a confirmed Sikh. We saw the holy scriptures the Guru Granth Sahib. We had a snack in the free kitchen called a langar. A few lucky volunteers got to wear a real turban. Thank you so much for our warm welcome!
