smileyWelcome to 5M's class pagesmiley

Autumn 2 is here and we’re all raring to go!

Keep your eyes peeled for details of our new topic.

Your class teacher in 5M is Miss Metcalfe and we are supported by Mrs Marriott and Miss Thomas.

On Tuesday morning, the class will be taught by Mrs Green and Mrs Hunter.

Bush Tucker Trial Day

Facing our fears head on, we got stuck in to a range of exciting activities today. Bravely, children volunteered to take part in the trial of tomb, name that locust tune and critter tasting. In groups, we worked together to learn a jungle dance and played pass the maggot. Lots of children tried the tasty jungle critters. Well done, Year 5!

Ready for our fun Australian Bush Tucker day, we have made these super hats. We followed some really tricky instructions and came up with some unique decorations.

Tom the tortoise came to visit us today. Unfortunately, we can’t visit Australia to see the Loggerhead turtles but Tom definitely made up for this!

Practising carefully, we worked on our hockey skills today. For the rest of the Autumn term, in PE, we will be outside playing hockey. Please ensure your children have an outside PE kit consisting of long trousers, a jacket (without a hood) and a pair of trainers.

We are really lucky in year 5 to have Mr French teaching us the ukulele on a Friday afternoon.

Please ensure children have their ukuleles in school every Friday.

Mr French has recommended the app 'Yousician' to help children practise at home.

Learning all about Captain Cook was fun today. We found clues around school and created a timeline of his life and his brave exploration of Australia and the rest of the world.

Take a look at some of the fantastic Aboriginal art we have created.
