Junk Model Dinosaur! All of the children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 have worked together to build a large dinosaur who has taken up residence in our school hall.

We have been drawing our own dinosaurs on the playground. We measured them using our feet and a metre stick. Then we used a trundle wheel to measure the length of a T-rex, a brachiosaurs and a triceratops. We were very surprised at how far we measured!

Our next topic is 'Terrific Toys' which we will be starting after the half term holiday. We will be starting our topic by learning about 100 years of toys. It would be lovely if your child could bring in any toys that had been their parents or grandparents for us to learn about. More details about the topic will be in the newsletter that will be sent home shortly.

Victorian Christmas at the Judges' Lodgings. We have been learning how the Victorians celebrated Christmas. We made a cornucopia, played parlour games and met Father Christmas.

We had an expert come to visit us with two owls. We learned lots of interesting facts about owls and used this information to write our non-fiction books.

Sharing our Writing

After writing some fabulous non-fiction texts, Y1 shared their work with the children in Y6.

We used the ipads to film ourselves finding the correct 3D shape.

These are some of our classroom displays. We are very proud of our work.
