Torrisholme Reading Festival
Move over Glastonbury! On Friday, we held our very first 'Reading Festival'and with beautiful sunshine there were no signs of mud or wellies!
The children spent the day working in mixed age groups, allowing children from Reception up to Year 6 to work together on collaborative activities, all of which were inspired by stories. These included Julia Donaldson's 'The Scarecrow's Wedding', Jill Murphy's 'The Worst Witch', J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter, a range of stories by Roald Dahl, stories on a pirate theme and Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief.
To make the day into a real festival, the children wore wristbands and we had a whole school picnic at lunchtime.
Check out the photos of our fabulous festival day.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
