Purple Mash

Monday 1st June

Serial mash is an online reading resource and it has been added to Purple Mash. Diamonds are the Key Stage 1 books and they are in chapters. Each chapter has learning activities for comprehension, spelling and grammar, and has links to writing activities on Purple Mash. There is a large library of books already there. Each half term a new book is started with a new chapter released each Monday.

This week, 'The Secret of The Sandcastle' has been added as a 2do along with the corresponding spelling and grammar activities. So, give it a go and tell me what you think - happy reading!

When I spoke to Ruby, she was a bit surprised to hear that she can email her friends in Purple Mash. So, I've added a little video below to talk you through how to do it.

Spelling

To help support your child to continue practising their spellings, each Monday I will set a new year 2 spelling list as a 2do on Purple Mash. You will see this as an alert when you log in.

There are a range of interactive games for all of the year 2 spellings which can be found by clicking on 'English' and then 'spellings'. They are set up by term and week. Your child can practise previous spellings using this.
