What's On for Families with Additional Needs

Meet the Team

Welcome to the Torrisholme Webpage for families with children who have additonal needs.

At Torrisholme Primary School, we are passionate about supporting all children and families, including those with different needs.

Your child's class teacher will be planning teaching and learning that is to meet your child's needs. Your child may also receive additonal support from a teaching assistant.

Our team also has a SENDCo, which stands for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Co-ordinator. This is Mrs. Jo Dowker.

I work with all of the class teachers and teaching assistants in school to support children who have additonal needs and/or disabilities. I liase with other professionals to support your child so we can give them every opportunity to achieve and flourish in school. These other professionals include paediatricians, school nurses, occupational therapist, physiotherapist, educational psychologist and specialist teachers.

I am always available for parents and carers to come and talk to me about anything that is a worry or concern. You can contact me via telephone on 01524 410799 option 2 or by email at sendco@torrisholme.lancs.sch.uk

Torrisholme Graduated Response. This is our graduated response for supporting all pupils to achieve during their school career.
