NEW BLOCK - THE WIND IN THE WILLOWS

Mrs Haine and I have been reading this novel on Torrisholme TV.

Here is the front cover of the book

Today we would like you to listen to the setting descriptions from the story and picking out good adjectives/noun phrases. Listen to Chapter 1 on Torrisholme TV. Listen carefully to the words which describe the river – are they all just describing what Mole can see? What else do they describe? The description includes all senses. Below is a picture of the river bank. We would like you to write some adjectives about it for see, smell, hear and feel and write some noun phrases .

Mild challenge -  Think of adjectives to describe a river for the 4 senses.

Example Bubbling - Gentle- Peaceful - Clear

Hot challenge –Make a word bank of adjectives to describe the river using the 4 senses. Start to turn words into noun phrases/similes/alliteration.

The peaceful, clear water bubbles along gently.

We would love to see your work!
