We used a finer brush to create detail.
We thought carefully how to create the tree and leaf effects by using different painting techniques and colour.

We are painting in layers just like Henri Rousseau.
This is our first layer - the background.
We thought carefully about colour and the mood we want to achieve.
We used a larger brush to paint the background as it was a big space to fill.
To achieve a realistic sky effect we have used sweeping horizontal brushstrokes and stippling for the clouds.
We are enjoying evaluating different rainforest artwork. “Surprised” by Henri Rousseau, “The Rainforest” by Senaka Senonayoke and “Yawanawa Amazon Rainforest Tree House” by John Dyer.
This half term our art topic is “The Rainforest”. Our focus artist 👨🎨 is Henri Rousseau. We will be exploring different painting techniques 🎨. The movement is Post Impressionism.
