The children have Music regularly in school and are keen to say why having it in the curriculum is important. Here are some of their comments:

"I think learning music is good because it can help you to earn money in the future. "

"Learning how to sing properly is useful because you might  want to be a singer when you grow up and it will help you if you have a terrible voice!"

"It teaches you how to play instruments properly and what to do to be a good singer."

"You might want to be a musician or a singer when you are older."

"Music helps you to be happy and makes you calm."

Most children agreed that it was important to teach Music in school because they might want to become a professional musician, singer or performer when they were older. Other children picked up on how music made them feel and they said that listening to music had a calming effect and they enjoyed playing together in a group or class. The children also explained that taking part in productions helped them not only to become better singers, but helped them be more confident also.
