Life Cycles
As part of life cycles, the children have looked at plants and ways these reproduce. The investigated the parts involved in these processes by dissecting a plant and labelling the parts they could identify.
To supplement our first topic of life cycles, we took care of some creatures and observed how they changed over the weeks!
Once they were fully grown, we went to the pond area to release them.
Earth and Space
After some lessons introducing the space theme, the children explored the movements of the moon and Earth in relation to the Sun and each other.
The children then looked at how shadows can give us a clue about the Earth’s movement and how Sun dials can be used to track time.
Putting together their space knowledge, the children have been creating a podcast to talk through and show off all these amazing facts.
Whilst looking at Stephen Hawking, the class briefly explored the topic of black holes; how they’re formed and their affect on space.
