Painting - Impressionism
For our painting theme of Impressionism, we explored Edvard Munch and his various pieces of art, including the famous ‘The Scream’. Focusing on this piece, we looked at the brush styles used.
This week, we looked at the colours Munch used and the roles of these colours in depicting emotion. The children blended primary and secondary colours to try and match those in ‘The Scream’.
Continuing their focus of Edvard Munch, the children explored Munch’s use of perspective.
The children put their skills together to form their final piece, applying the style of expressionism and of Edvard Munch.
