Stories with Historical Settings
The children have written fantastic chapters as continuations of the Alice in Wonderland story. The children then focussed on editing their work, checking spellings, grammar and punctuation.
Scripts
To begin their next unit in writing, the children explored a script extract from the Wizard of Oz. They considered the scene directions and character actions and performed the scene themselves. They then watched the film extract and considered how it was acted out, based on what was included in the script.
World Book Day
As part of WBD activities, the children shared their diary entries, written from the perspective of the young boy from our focus text The Night Gardener. The children had also created art pieces, inspired by the topiary from the text, which were also shared to Year 2.
