Drawing - Pop Art

Year 5 have started their art this year by exploring pop art and the lettering within it. The children have looked at several artists known for this style, but have focussed on Edward Ruscha as their focus artist. As our focus artist, we have looked at some of the key features that make up his artwork and have imitated this too! This included a master skill of using one-point perspective to transform 2D drawings by adding depth, making them appear 3D.

The class continued to work on their drawing skills by focussing on shading: blending, stippling, hatching and cross-hatching.
