Painting our pots!
We have worked really hard in our art lessons, learning all about how to roll, pinch, pull and smooth clay into shapes. Once we had explored and become more confident with these skills we then moved on to putting our super pot ideas in place. Some of us have made tall pots for flowers, some of us have wide flatter bowls for adding fruit or potpourri too and some of us have made bowl shapes which could be used at breakfast time! We have also enjoyed adding some decoration to it by using everyday tools and adding lips and frills to the rims of the pot to make them stand out decoratively. We had so much fun!

Our Finished Creations
We have had a fabulous afternoon exploring different materials which could be used to create 3D form. After looking at a range of sculptors and artists last week, we chose some different materials to explore….natural materials such as leaves and sticks, clay, salt dough, play dough and papier mache. When exploring the materials, we thought about which ones were strongest, weakest, messiest, easiest to shape, stiffest and stretchiest. We can’t wait to explore more next week!
