MAGNETS and MAGNETISM

Having fun with maths and magnets!

Today, we had fun using magnets helping us to learn our timestables. We know that metal paperclips are attracted to magnets, even through plastic so we created some timestables testers by chosing the number facts we wanted to practise and writing them on a plastic bottle with a permenant pen.

Next, we dropped the paperclip into the bottle and moved the clip from number to number using the magnet. Check out our videos below!

Investigating with magnets

We chose from two investigations.

The first was to find out how strong a magnet was and the second was to find out how far an object could be from a magnet before it was attracted.
