Hello and welcome to our new class pages for Year 5! Class 5W will be led by Mrs Wilson and 5B by Mr Barnes. Here you will find photos and updates of many of the things we are up to in the 2022-2023 academic year.

Some general messages for parents and carers:

• Please ensure your child reads four times a week at home – it cannot be underestimated how beneficial this is for their reading and writing development, as well as encouraging a lifelong love of literature and stories!
• We ask that families encourage their children to build confidence in their times table recall through regular Times Table Rockstar practice. We have an in-school class competition based on pupils’ time table knowledge with prizes and incentives for the children.
• PE days are Wednesday and Thursday. Please ensure the children have appropriate PE kit for these days, including footwear.
• We are currently putting a whole-school focus on uniform and manners. As much as possible, please ensure your child attends school looking smart with the correct school uniform.

All the teaching staff in Year 5 are excited for the year ahead and all the memories, learning and adventures to come.
