Bread and Pizza
The class investigated a variety of breads from around the world and cultural traditions by discussing the taste, shape, ingredients and texture. They also recapped how bread fits into a balanced diet.
Following on from tasting different breads last week, Year 5 made their own pizza bases, looking at how different flours alter the cooking and outcome. The children practised their baking skills and tasted their creations, evaluating based upon appearance, taste and smell.
Putting all their skills to the test, the children made their pizzas. They considered what toppings to use based upon a balanced diet and applied their knowledge of bases. The class couldn’t wait to try their creations!
