Happy Chinese New Year!
Today we are going to revisit….
“er, er, a better letter”
Literacy: Today you are going to use your story map from yesterday to write your own version of ‘The Magic Pot’ This is your ‘big write’ of the week Year 1 so try really hard to include all the things our writing needs. We can’t wait to read your stories.
Arithmetic: Sharing into equal parts (2’s)
Following on from yesterday’s practise, can you split these objects into two equal groups? (sheet)
Challenge question: Can you split an odd number into two equal groups?
Maths: Gung Hay Fat Choy! Happy New Year! We have been learning about how the animals of the Chinese Zodiac decided who would have which year named after them. Can you write down in your books who came?
Write 3 sentences to compare the animals using the words slower and faster. For example, The Rat was faster than the Dog.
Read the text on ‘The Year of the OX’ and have a go at answering the questions from the text. Good luck!
