Marvellous Me and Amazing Animal newsletter

Wow! We had lots of amazing entries into our Great London Bake Off competiton with a theme of London or the Great Fire of London. We sold the cakes for a donation to the Fire Fighters' Charity and have raised £123.65. Thank you to everyone who entered or sent in a donation.

We have been learning to make an amount using coins. We have made the same amount using different coins.

We have been learning how St.Paul's Cathedral was rebuild after the Great Fire of London. We were inspired by the abstract artist Paul Klee to create a piece of abstract art of St. Paul's Cathedral.

We have been learning how London was re-built after the Great Fire of London. We made 3D maps of how we would have re-built it using our knowledge of the fire and how and why it spread.

We have used collage to create a Great Fire of London scene.

We have made a model of a Tudor house. We have been learning about the materials used and comparing this to the materials used for modern buildings.

We have been learning about Tudor buildings and the materials that are used. We worked in pairs to make a wattle and daub tile.

In music we have been learning about rhythm. We created our own rhythm of long and short notes using chime bars.

We have used our learning of different habitats and the animals that live there to create a shoebox habitat.

We have been learning about the African Savannah and the animals that live there. We made a background using pastels and cut out silhouettes of the animals and trees that live there.

We are learning how animals are suited and adapted to the habitat they live in. We have been learning facts about polar bears and their habitat. We have used mixed media to make an Arctic polar bear picture. First we made the background with crepe paper, glue and glitter.

We have been enjoying reading with 5J who are our reading buddies.
