Video Production
As part of their new topic in computing of video production, the children looked at what a video is, different filming techniques and the use of storyboards to create videos.

Using a Storyboard to create our own videos
Using a storyboard they created, the children filmed their own videos in groups. Once they were happy with their clips, they imported them onto a film editing programme, cutting and joining the clips to make one full video.
Databases
To begin the topic of databases, Year 5 created a physical database all about different animals. They looked at the fields that create a record and then how these can records can be organised.
The children then created their own databases on the computer all about aliens. They completed their own records, each with their own fields. The children then ordered these based upon different criteria.
