Today we began an experiment. We have put 8 plants in 8 different growing conditions. We predicted what might happen to each plant and why - first verbally with our talk partners and then written into our books.
Have a look at some of our instruction writing. They are titled ‘How to Keep Plants Healthy’
Today we each chose a vegetable seed to plant. We can’t wait to see them begin to grow! We have learnt that they need sunlight, warmth and water and the reasons why.
This week we sorted different seeds. We chose two groups to sort the seeds into. The children chose to sort them by shape, colour and type of seed.
This half term we are learning about Plants! We began by learning about and exploring seeds. The children were so intrigued by the different shapes, sizes and colours of the seeds and loved finding out what each seed would grow into. We looked even closer at some seeds using magnifying glasses and each completed observational drawings of the seeds.
