Labelling body parts 👀
Our new topic for this term in Science is 'The Human Body'. We have discussed all the different body parts that we already know and can think of, and then spoke about how everybody has more or less the same body parts but they may be different sizes and lengths, linking this to our topic of 'Differences' in PSHE. We also spoke about people being different heights and weights too. During this lesson we measured each others' arms and legs using cubes, and compared, as a class, who had smaller or longer length limbs.
At the start of our lesson we did a human body parts quiz where we had to answer questions about body parts and their functions. We also labelled body parts, watched video clips showing the outside and insides of our bodies, and then we each had to write down a body part on a post it note and stick it on the correct place on our friend who was the class human body model.
We have been learning about the 5 senses of the human body, and which body parts are responsible for them. We went on a senses hunt outside in our outdoor areas, and thought about and drew what we could hear, see, smell and touch, and then we came inside and discussed what we tasted during our lunch time.
