Painting - Still Life
This half term, we are learning to paint a still life in the style of the impressionist Paul Cezanne. We have spent time analysing still life paintings from throughout history, identifying our favourites and thinking about why we like them. We have had a go and painting pears and carrots - observing and colour matching with care. Using ready mixed and watercolour paints, we used tinting and toning to create accurate shades and worked hard to use light and shadow to make our paintings look as realistic as possible. Next, we’ll focus on Cezanne’s painting style and how to curate a still life painting people will enjoy looking at.
