We have been learning lots about Florence Nightingale. We finished our last day of half term with a history workshop, using role play, to consolidate and extend our learning.

We learned that if the fighting was near the hospital, everyone had to take cover. We had lots of fun role playing this.

We role played being one of Florence Nightingale’s nurses arriving in Scutari and sorting the horrible, filthy hospital. This included emptying the chamber pots that were overflowing in the ward.
