Tag Rugby
To begin their unit on tag rugby, the children first explored their passing skills. They progressed into more distanced throws and looked at the benefits of taking your time with a pass to ensure accuracy.
We have been lucky enough to have some rugby coaches join us to teach the classes some key skills. They have been looking at the importance of a good grip of the ball, and accuracy whilst throwing.
The children put together the skills they have been practising over the past few weeks and played some short games. The children used the space around them and were accurate with their throws!
The children finished their tag rugby training by taking part in a small game, putting to use their skills that have been developed over the past few weeks.
Dance
The children started their new unit by forming a 16-count dance routine, made up of movements that represented them. Routines were then presented to the class and combined with a partner’s to form a new 16-count routine.
After being given a planet/ moon to represent, children got into groups to form dance routines that showed off the properties of their planet.
Athletics
We began our lesson by getting the children to jump around! We then talked about techniques that we can use to jump further and put this to action.
