Torrisholme School Band and 'The Geriatrix'
Today the school band had an amazing time combining with a local band to play music together. The Morecambe band, who play at venues around Morecambe, enjoyed 'jamming' with the children. Both bands had a rehearsal in the morning and then performed pieces to the school. It was a brilliant concert, an enjoyable music making event that they hope to repeat again soon.
The 'Geriactrix' band consists of a bass guitarist, acoustic guitarist, keyboards and woodwind. Linda showed the children several instruments from the woodwind family, including soprano saxophone, clarinet, oboe and recorder.
The first song our visiting band performed was 'I Can See Clearly' and we joined in with the singing.
I Can See Clearly

Our next piece was a performance from both bands - 'Oh, When the Saints' which we learnt together in the morning. It was an awesome performance from everyone!

Our next combined band piece was 'Matchstalk Men', a Torrisholme favourite!

We were able to perform our band favourite 'Rockband' and the audience clearly enjoyed clapping along!
