Science
In Science this half term we are learning all about sound. This week, we have explored how sound travels through vibration. We carried out an experiment using two types of cup, one was plastic and the other was cardboard, we then talked through what happened when we talked into one of the cups and listened through the other. We noticed that the vibrations travelled better through the cardboard cup.

Observing freezing - An investigation conducted throughout the day to see if our freezer would turn a range of household liquids into solids. Shampoo, brown sauce, fairy liquid, milk, water, vinegar and antibacterial gel were all put to the test.

Observing melting in the classroom - margarine, butter, chocolate, ice and ice cream, materials we are familiar with and know can melt. Using our scientific skills, we predicted then observed closely at 10 minute intervals how the materials had changed, if at all.

Ice cube challenge! Who can make theirs melt the fastest?
