A huge thank you to all the parents who managed to come in and see the children's shoe box habitats. I'm sure you will agree that the children created some great masterpieces and they were so proud to share their creations with you.
The children had a fantastic Art Day transforming shoe boxes into a habitat of their choice. Take a look at their masterpieces showing various habitats and the different animals that live in either the Arctic, Under the Ocean and in the African Savannah.
The children have blown me away with how much they already know about different animals and they have been able to sort them into herbivores, carnivores and omnivores by looking at photos of their teeth!
This week we have started to look at how animals adapt to their surroundings and taking a closer look at the polar bear and their habitat. The children have found out some amazing facts! They were amazed that the fur of a polar bear is clear and it only looks white because of the sunlight reflecting off the snow!
I am so proud of my little artists in 2P who have patiently created a mixed media Arctic background, using paint; crepe paper and glitter, ready to add a polar bear to in a couple of days...watch this space!
