This half term, our 'memory box' has taken us back to the time of Beatrix Potter. We have been finding out more about her life and have been using her pictures and illustrations to find out what life was like for Beatrix. On Friday, we spent the afternoon exploring a wide range of mysterious artefacts - many of them lifted from the pages of Beatrix's books. We learnt that you should handle objects from the past with care - not only because they might be delicate or fragile but also because they are often incredibly heavy! This is a skill we will continue to practise over the coming weeks. We used our developing skills, as young historians, to identify the purpose of these interesting objects from the past.
This half term, the children in 1S are loving having their chance to learn the basic skills of judo with our coach Anthony. Check out our chest holds!
Autumn Senses Walk
The children have, once again, been out and about in the school garden. This week we have been using our senses to explore and investigate the autumn season - describing leaves in preparation for our poetry writing in literacy.
