This week we are so excited to be taking part in and celebrating Nursery Rhyme Week 2022! On Monday, we loved singing our first song ‘The Big Ship Sailed’ before embarking on an exciting voyage across the Atlantic Ocean! 🌟
We loved singing our new Nursery Rhyme with the wonderful Mrs Jones. We had lots of fun diving into the ocean to learn about what amazing animals and plants live there!
We loved learning our new Nursery Rhyme of the day ‘5 Little Speckled Frogs’! We had lots of fun pretending to be tadpoles swimming, growing and changing in a pond. We loved wiggling and waggling our ‘tadpole’ fingers. Then putting both hands together for the tadpole’s tale. Hopping on the spot, like a baby froglet, crouching down and ‘boinging’, springing up, landing gently with hands and feet together on the floor. Finally finding our froggy voices, as we blinked our eyes and stuck out our froggy tongues, as we made croaky froggy sounds! What a frogtastic adventure! 🐸
What a wonderful week we had celebrating Bonfire Night. We had lots of fun sharing firework stories, photographs and videos from home to inspire our wonderful writing, artwork and creative crafts! We loved writing words and letter sounds in our coloured sand, creating rockets and paintings in our creative area and dancing like fireworks outdoors! We loved writing a shared poem and singing songs and rhymes about Bonfire Night!

We enjoyed making diva lamps out of clay and decorating them, created Rangoli patterns out of shapes, chalk and Numicon. We enjoyed creating Mehndi hand patterns. We loved learning the story of Rama and Sita. We created our very own story maps to help us retell the tale. The children particularly loved the evil Ravana the ten headed and twenty-armed demon God and Hanuman the monkey king who helps Rama get Sita back from Ravana. On Friday, we had a Diwali party complete with Bollywood dancing. We created mandala art in the forest, using natural objects to create and adorn the grounds with light and colourful floor art in celebration of the festival of light. We decorated our last Rangoli and lit our diva candles and sent out positive thoughts for the Hindu new year.
