Forest Friday 🍂
What a windy Forest Friday! After learning all about why storms have names and different tools that help us measure the wind, we decided to have a go at making and testing our own leaf kites. It was so much fun!

The Little Red Hen
After reading our story ‘The Little Red Hen’ we had a go at making our very own bread! We loved, mixing, kneading and squashing the dough. We have left it to rise overnight and can’t wait to bake it tomorrow!
We LOVED moulding, baking and eating our bread today! It was lovely to hear the children chatting about the process and the different, smells and tastes during our carpet picnic! 🥖
Amazing Autumn 🍂
This week we have loved exploring Amazing Autumn!
We went on a 'Muddy Monday' adventure, where we enjoyed exploring and looking for signs of Autumn. We watched the leaves whirl and twirl from the trees as we sang our song ‘Autumn leaves are falling down’. Inspired by our story ‘Leaf Man’ we loved collecting Autumn leaves and creating our very own leaf people and animals! In our school grounds had lots of fun creating conker messy artwork by rolling conkers through the paint and onto paper! We loved drawing Autumn trees and leaves and writing words about Autumn in our special writing books, using our super letter sounds.
MUSIC
In todays music lesson we personalised the “Name Song”. What wonderful singing and actions!

Music 🎼
Today the children listened to “Sing” by the Carpenters. They told me how the music made them feel.
We’re Going on a Bear Hunt 🐻
Today we began our new story and loved retelling it in different ways! We created an obstacle course to practise moving under and over objects and went on a barefoot sensory walk to experience the different places on the journey. We came up with some amazing adjectives to describe how it felt!
We’re going on a bear hunt by Michael Rosen
Today we had our very own bear hunt.
We encountered a fallen tree… we couldn’t go under it… we had to jump over it!
Then we found a bridge….we couldn’t go over it, so we had to go under it.
Inspired by our story 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt' we loved learning fun facts about bears! On World Animal Day we loved drawing our favourite bear and using words to describe the bears, using, and applying our super letter sounds! On Friday, National Poetry Day, we enjoyed sharing a poem by A.A.Milne 'Furry Bear' and looking at pictures of Winne the Pooh in the past! We have loved creating bear fork paintings and collages.

Having lots of fun with our Year 6 Buddies 💙
The children had a lovely session working with their buddies in Year 6 to create their harvest decorations.
Rock Kidz
We had a fabulous time rocking with Rock Kidz learning all about positivity, being unique and celebrating what makes us special! We danced, sang and even had a teachers vs children dance battle which of course our amazing superstars won! What a brilliant afternoon!
Marvellous Mathematics!
We love making patterns! 🍂
Measuring mass!
We loved being becoming ‘human balancing scales’ measuring and estimating which objects would be heavier and which would be lighter before measuring using our balance scales. ⚖️
We loved exploring capacity! We had lots of fun exploring which container holds the most and which one holds the least.
Match, sort and compare. We learnt all about matching objects and finding pairs. After reading the story The Button Box we were allowed to explore our very special button box. The children were so excited! I wonder if you can find any matching objects at home? ‘The red one matches the red one. They are the same!’
In maths we have been sorting buttons into different groups.
Some children sorted into size groups : Big and small.
Some children sorted the buttons by the number of holes.
Forest Friday 🍃
We loved exploring the forest, finding ‘Superworm’ and many other creepy crawlies! We loved finding natural treasures (leaves, acorns, blackberries, twigs & much more) and using them to create our natural artwork of our families! What a magical adventure! 💙
Walk and Talk
We loved our first Walk and Talk! We loved being outside, developing our listening and attention skills and developing our communication and language!
Our Amazing Artists 🎨
Our Families 💙
We have been learning all about each other’s families and have been very busy creating our houses, drawing family portraits and making our families from pebbles. We have loved heading all about who I’d in each other’s families, how they are all different and how we are all special and unique!
Dough Disco 🌟
We love Dough Disco!
Dough Disco helps to strengthen the children's fine motor muscles to enable them to develop their pencil grip which in turn will help to develop their writing skills. But most of all it's fun! 🌟
