We have had such a great first geography lesson this week to secure children’s geographical locational knowledge, including latitude and longitude lines and their significance, before zooming in on South America next week. The children were able to identify the 5 most significant lines of latitude, Greenwich meridian line of longitude and other key facts about the world we live in. It was lovely seeing them explore the atlases, class map and classroom globe to deepen their understanding.
