Letters From The Lighthouse

Our first dip into fiction and we are reading and studying a real cracker! 'Letters From the Lighthouse' written by Emma Carroll, throws us into the lives of the Bradshaw family, in particular, the children Cliff, Olive and their older sister Sukie, and describes how their lives are turned upside down by WW2. We follow them through evacuation and experience their adventures duing this testing time.

Through Active reading sessions, we have delved deeply into the first three chapters, exploring the vocabulary and retrieving and inferring information about the setting and characters.
