The children began their new topic by exploring and analysing illustrations that told the start of the story ‘The Invention of Hugo Cabret’.

To begin their new focus, the children cut out details from a selection of photos from Blackpool Zoo. The children formed expanded noun phrases, relative clauses and fronted adverbials to describe these details in depth.
