In our English this week, we have been looking at non-fiction texts and what they include. We have created success criteria for what should be included in the text, made a plan of how we might organise our own layout of a non-fiction text and boxed up and designed our own non-fiction text on information we found out about spiders. Here are some of our examples…
We started a new unit of learning today. We looked at a range of books and had to be detectives to find what was the same about them all. Together we discovered they were all non-fiction books. Then we looked again and created our own success criteria on what a good non fiction book has such as a contents page. We can't wait to learn more!
Here we are with our reading buddies. This is an activity we love! It gives us time to build confidence with our reading through repetition, a trusted partner, support with segmenting and blending when needed and developing expression. Our reading is really coming on! We love sharing stories with the class too!
We have been busy planning our own comic today. We have designed and described our own super hero and villain characters and can’t wait to get started tomorrow!
Today we were introduced to our new story 'Supertato!' We loved reading the story and then freeze framing different events from the story. We could say what each character was thinking, saying and feeling.
