Curriculum Enrichment Days
March 2025 - Trip to Lancaster University
Be the Change: Democracy and British Values
The children took part in an activity-filled day at Lancaster University, lead by the student ambassadors. The children first reminded themselves of the British values (which we have been exploring in the class assemblies) and discussed situations where these are highly valuable.
The classes then went on a small tour of the campus, with some groups getting the opportunity to explore the Engineering section.
After lunch, the children then took part in a class debate, arguing for and against the use of school uniforms. Through this, the children were introduced to the House of Commons and how some decisions are decided in our country.
January 2025 - The RNLI came into school to discuss water safety. They taught us how to stay safe by the coast line and we now know to stop and think. If we fall into danger we need to float or call 999.
November 2024 - United Utilities came into school to discuss how to look after our water. We know how to reduce water use to help our environment.
