Lancaster Castle and The Police Museum... a trip down the dungeons and round the dock, along the prison wing and into the cells. We had a real historical treat learning lots about our local heritage and the significance of Lancaster Castle in the past. A trip there and back on the train was an additional highlight too. The children experienced many ‘firsts’ across the day and nobody was ‘sent down!’ A once in a lifetime opportunity today indeed! Well done, 4 Wyre for upholding the ethos of school so brilliantly while out n about and for listening closely and asking some super questions of our knowledgable guides. Thank you to Sabine and Christopher, our very informative and helpful guides during our visit and also Adrian who suddenly found himself himself roped in to answer questions about modern prison life. A truly terrific trip... a castle well worth a visit!
