DT - Making a phone/i-pad case

In DT this half term, we are designing, planning and making a felt phone case. In our first session, we thought about what sort of case we would like and made three designes in our book. We will be building on our sewing skills by learning some new stitches to ensure our felt is joined securely. 

Here, we are practising stitching on card, to help us make our stitches even. We have learned blanket stitch as well as practising stitches we had learned further down the school, including whip (over) stitch, running and back stitch. We also had a recap on tying a knot!

We made a pattern piece of the phone or i/pad from home and brought it into school. 

This week, we have chosen our felt background, we have drawn around the shape (leaving a cm edge for our sewing) and are starting to cut small felt shapes for our special design.
