Expressive Art & Design
Buzz, Whirr, Clang! Our Robot Creations 🤖
We designed and created our own robots from various materials and movable parts. We explored a range of joining techniques such as glue, tape, staples, treasury tags, split pins and string. Linking our work to our focus text, we used onomatopoeia to give our robots names and describe the sounds they make.
Winter Art - inspired by Jackson Pollock
With a drips, splashes and drops of paint, we created our own artwork inspired by Jackson Pollock. We used winter colours to explore patterns, movement, and creativity.
Ice Painting Exploring Changes of State
We took part in an exciting ice-painting activity where we used watercolours and slabs of ice to explore cold seasonal colours, texture and movement. As the ice melted, we watched how the colours mixed, dripped and spread across the surface, creating beautiful and unpredictable patterns. This experience supported fine motor skills, creativity and curiosity, while giving us the opportunity to talk about what they could see happening.
