Curriculum overview
Important Notices
PE days: Wednesday (outdoor) and Thursday (indoor)
Please remember to send in a full (labelled!) PE kit and to tie long hair back on PE days.
Reading Books: reading books will be issued by the end of the week and will be changed on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Please listen to your child read at least 4 times a week and make a note of this in their reading record.
Spellings: spellings will go home every Monday, to be tested on Friday.
Music: in Year 3 your child will get the opportunity to learn the recorder! One of these will be issued shortly so they can practise. Please make sure this is in school every Friday.
Times Tables: please learn the 3, 4 and 8 times tables. TT Rockstars will help with learning these!
Arithmetic
Lots of the children in Year 3 need to practice their mental arithmetic. Number facts such as halves, doubles, bonds to 20 and 100 should now be instant recall facts in Year 3. If your child is struggling with this, please use the game below (which we use in class) to help them.

Reading in Y3
Geography
In geography we are learning all about the UK. The children are loving this game to help them remember the regions.

Meet the Teacher
Please see below for the PowerPoint from our parent information session in July.
Our Recorder Showcase!🌟

After learning the recorder for the first time since coming into Y3 in September, we have been practising hard and were keen to share our amazing work. We created our own special assembly to perform to KS1 by writing our own script and performing it alongside 3 of our recorder songs. All of the teachers were so impressed and the Y3 team are very proud of our amazing young musicians! Well done!
