Place Value
The class has started Year 5 reminding themselves of place value. The children first created make-shift place value tables and created numbers on these.
The children were introduced to a Gattegno charts and its role in displaying the values of numbers. They explored how we used these to show values changing.
Fractions
We used connecting blocks to form various fractions and to visually see how many ‘wholes’ were present.
