Our very first key text is Nick Sharrat’s classic ‘Shark in the Park’. This book provides the perfect starting point for early reading and writing and supports the phonics sounds we are learning in phonics this half term. This week we are focusing on initial sounds so just like Timothy Pope, we took our own telescopes out into the school grounds using them to spot objects beginning with given graphemes.
