Area and Perimeter of Shapes
The children began looking at perimeter by exploring its practical usage. They used measuring wheels and measured the perimeter of our netball court.
The children then looked at area, and quickly progressed to finding the area of compound shapes.
Reflection
The children used mirrors to find lines of symmetry and accurate reflections of various shapes. They also used coordinates on graphs and explored which coordinates changes depending on it being a vertical or horizontal line of symmetry.
