Composition
This half term in music we are looking at composition. We started this week’s lesson by watching a 25 second clip of ‘Rio’ the film with no sound, the challenge was then set to create our own composition in pairs to fit with the clip, thinking about sound effects and character’s emotions and personality.

Week 2 of composition and Walney class have created some fantastic pieces of music for our film clip! We started off by recapping our musical note knowledge and the children impressed me by picking it up so quickly. After creating our pieces and writing them down on a stave, the challenge was set to add a few sound effects to make the film clip more animated.

This week in our composition lessons, we are looking at music with technology. We explored the Chrome Music Lab website and discovered lots of ways to compose. We used the Melody Maker first to create a simple tune and then tried something slightly more complex using the Song Maker.
