We have begun our new unit on Electricity by exploring the role of an Electrical Engineer. We discussed the meanings of 'conductor' and 'insulator' and predicted which materials from a list might allow electricity to flow. We then carefully carried out an investigation to see which items kept the light on in a circuit and which ones caused it to go out. The children approached the task sensibly and maturely, and we finished by writing a conclusion to summarise our findings.
